Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Millwright Specialist to join our team at Wood. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation of machinery and equipment in industrial establishments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Reads and interprets blueprints, layout plans, vendor installation and operation manuals, and other schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  2. Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
  3. Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  4. Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, using cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
  5. Constructs foundation for machines using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement, and steel.
  6. Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
  7. Must have knowledge of optical and laser alignments.
  8. Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools.
  9. May operate an engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
  10. May install robots and modify their programs using teach pendants.
  11. May use transits and levels for equipment setting.
  12. Loads, transports, and unloads materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  13. Performs lubricating maintenance, cleaning activities, or repair of tools, machines, and equipment.
  14. Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
  15. Uses effective verbal and written communication skills.
  16. Is capable of listening and communicating with other supervision and employees.
  17. Is motivated and works safely and productively.
  18. Understands and responds accordingly to all safety alerts, warnings, hazards, etc.

Requirements

Five plus years of documented field experience in craft discipline with the ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan, and perform work activities independently.
