About the Role:

As an Electrical Design Engineer at McFarland Johnson, you will play a pivotal part in designing and implementing cutting-edge electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, communications, and building security systems. Your expertise will be essential in every project phase, from planning and pre-design scoping to construction review and client interaction.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and design power distribution, lighting, and communication systems.
• Develop Electric Vehicle Charging Systems, fire detection and alarm, and security building systems.
• Work on highway and airfield lighting and control systems.
• Manage all project phases, including planning, design, specifications, team coordination, construction documents, bidding, and inspection.
• Conduct code analysis, maintain client relations, and interact with contractors and other consultants.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• PE licensure or passing of FE exam preferred.
• 6 - 10 years of electrical design experience in commercial, industrial, and institutional building facilities.
• Sustainable design experience with LEED accreditation a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and MS Office.
• Superior organizational and interpersonal skills to work effectively as a team, develop and maintain client relations, meet project demands, and schedules.
