Winthrop University is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Chemistry to join our dynamic department. As a tenure-track faculty member, you will have the opportunity to teach undergraduate organic chemistry or inorganic chemistry lectures and labs, as well as advanced courses in your area of expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a research mentor in our established undergraduate research program, preparing students for PhD programs in the chemical/biochemical sciences.
- Develop and teach undergraduate chemistry courses, including organic and inorganic chemistry.
- Participate in departmental service and contribute to the growth and development of our chemistry program.
Qualifications:
- PhD in chemistry or a closely related field.
- Postdoctoral or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong background and demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate chemistry, particularly in organic or inorganic chemistry.
- Demonstrated passion for directing undergraduate research projects and mentoring students from underrepresented groups.
