Job Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide administrative support to the SBPS Department & DrPH Program in meeting the academic and administrative needs of advanced-level DrPH students. Key components include tracking student progress through the Applied Practice Experience (APE) and Integrated Learning Experience (ILE) processes, coordinating with APE/ILE professors of record to set up Canvas sites and maintain necessary documentation, assisting with formal-signature tracking, and ensuring all APE/ILE student-steps are completed. This role works closely with the DrPH Academic Advisor and DrPH Program Manager to ensure that APE/ILE completions are recognized in the degree audit and by the Registrar, contributing to the timely graduation of DrPH students. Proficiency with digital tools is essential for managing these tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Track student progress through APE and ILE processes
  • Coordinate with APE/ILE professors of record to set up Canvas sites and maintain documentation

Requirements
  • Demonstrated mastery of basic software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat)
  • Demonstrated mastery of cloud/online software applications (e.g. Zoom, MS Teams, Box Drive, Google Drive, One SharePoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to deal diplomatically with people from a variety of internal and external constituencies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a great attention to detail
  • Effective judgement and ability to discern priorities when managing a variety of activities with multiple deadlines
  • Proven ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, with a proactive approach to seeking managerial support when required
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and two years' experience related to program coordination and/or project & event management that included tasks geared towards the general public
  • OR High School Diploma/Equivalent and six years' experience related to experience related to program coordination and/or project & event management that included tasks geared towards the general public
  • Two or more years of administrative experience within a post-secondary, academic institution-ideally with a student-facing focus
  • Familiarity with Public Health as a field-either through degree attainment (BPH, MPH, DrPH, Phd) or work experience
  • Proficiency with systems in use at Tulane University (e.g. Concur, SciQuest, Banner, Slate)
