Associate Director for Development

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director for Development to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for cultivating and soliciting major gifts from alumni, friends, and corporate partners to support the College of Natural Sciences.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a deep understanding of the University's priorities, vision, and mission.
- Build and manage a portfolio of 75-100 prospective donors with a capacity of $100,000+.
- Engage in qualification, strategy, development, relationship building, and closing of major gifts at $100,000+ for the College.
- Consistently produce $2,500,000+ per year in fundraising revenue.
- Participate in goal setting, proposal preparation, strategy development, and stewardship as required for donors in the portfolio.
- Successfully deliver funding proposals to prospective and current donors.
- Effectively work with faculty, academic leaders, and other development staff to develop campus-wide funding opportunities to reach campaign goals.
- Utilize fundraising database and prospecting tools to maintain accurate records and track engagement activities.
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years' experience in major gifts fundraising or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to execute successful full-cycle donor strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively, work well under pressure, and manage details of several concurrent projects.
- Experience using reporting tools and donor management software.
- Highly effective communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal).
- Proven project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate among teams.
- Ability to travel frequently to visit prospects and donors.
- Experience with fundraising database and knowledge of prospecting tools and reports within prospective donor relations systems.
- Experience working in a large-scale complex academic research university.
- Knowledge of UT Austin policies and procedures.
