Physical Therapist Clinical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist Clinical Specialist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive physical therapy assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Administer physical therapy treatment modalities, including exercise, heat, light, ultrasound, water, electricity, massage, gait training, and balance training, to promote patient recovery and independence.
- Provide patient and family education programs to empower patients to take an active role in their healthcare and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Case Management, Nursing, and Physicians, to ensure seamless patient care and timely discharge.
- Develop and implement in-service programs for Physical Therapy Staff, Nursing Staff, and other Ancillary Staff to enhance their knowledge and skills.
- Monitor equipment use for safety and wear and tear in the department, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for the department and Medical Center.
- Guide departmental support personnel to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
- Prepare schedules for inpatients and outpatients, ensuring timely and accurate patient care.
- Attend hospital and department in-service programs as required, staying up-to-date on the latest best practices and technologies.
- Assist the Director in developing and implementing a Quality Improvement Program in Physical Therapy, driving continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
- Masters Degree in Physical Therapy with Clinical Specialist Certification through the APTA or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an Accredited Physical Therapy Program with two years clinical experience.
- Prior acute care and outpatient experience required.
- Ability to read and concentrate frequently to check accuracy of reports, correspondence, computer records, etc.
- Ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret policies and procedures.
- Ability to deal with stress of dealing with public, frequent interruptions, and working on more than one task concurrently.
- Flexibility to respond to changes in priorities, special project assignments, and emergency situations.
- Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to provide effective patient care.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
