Support Specialist for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities

Able Mind & Body Home Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to lead fulfilling and independent lives.
**Job Summary:**
We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Support Specialist to provide personalized support to our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist individuals with daily living activities, including medication administration, mobility assistance, and wound care. You will also work closely with our clients to promote their independence, advocate for their rights, and facilitate their engagement with the community.
**Responsibilities:**
• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including personal care tasks and medical monitoring.
• Foster positive relationships between caregivers and individuals served, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
• Assist clients with self-administration of medications, remind them of appointments, and transport them as needed.
• Plan meals, shop for groceries, prepare and serve food, and perform light housekeeping duties.
• Accompany clients to scheduled appointments and transport them or run errands on their behalf.
• Report changes in client condition or family situation to administrators and supervisors.
• Document services provided via service notes.
**Qualifications/Skills:**
• High school diploma or equivalent required; 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license necessary for transportation duties.
• Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
**Work Environment:** Client homes, work sites outside of the client home as required, and other work sites assigned by management.
**Salary:** Estimated annual salary range $45,000 - $60,000, depending on location and experience. We offer competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
