Job Overview

We are seeking a part-time Disability Support Specialist to join our team. This role involves supporting adults with disabilities in daily recreation programs, providing hands-on assistance, and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Actively engage and supervise individuals with disabilities during program activities
  • Ensure the safety of participants during recreation events, transportation, and transition times
  • Communicate professionally with participants, parents, fellow staff, and the public as needed
  • Submit timely reports, evaluations, and time sheets, maintaining accurate records
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Possess a degree from an accredited university in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field (equivalent experience may be substituted)
  • Obtain CPR and First Aid certification within the first three months of employment
Benefits

This part-time position offers a competitive hourly rate of $19.00 to $22.00, dependent on qualifications. A limited benefit package includes vacation days, paid holidays, a defined pension plan, and wellness program.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will work 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with reliable transportation required for attendance at all scheduled programs.
