What You Will Be Responsible For:
- Overseeing and mentoring direct reports.
- Providing strategic leadership, guidance, and performance evaluations to team members.
- Designing and executing initiatives aimed at minimizing workplace injuries and accidents, which includes creating safety training materials, conducting workshops, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
- Performing regular risk evaluations and audits to pinpoint potential workplace hazards, analyze injury trends, and assess current safety protocols.
- Collaborating closely with clients to customize risk management strategies to meet their unique requirements, offering expert recommendations on best practices, and assisting them in implementing effective safety measures.
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding workplace safety and workers' compensation for both the insurance provider and its clients.
- Utilizing risk management software tools to efficiently track, analyze, and report risk data, implementing new software solutions as necessary, training staff on their use, and ensuring integration with existing systems to enhance overall efficiency and accuracy of risk management processes.
- Promoting a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the risk management team.
- Building and maintaining relationships with insurance carriers, brokers, and other external partners to optimize loss control and reduce workplace injuries.
- Analyzing loss trends and patterns to identify opportunities for process enhancement and cost savings.
- Preparing comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders on risk management and loss control issues.
- Staying updated on emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in the risk management and insurance sectors.
- Executing additional responsibilities as assigned.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management principles and insurance products.
- Expertise in Workers' Compensation and Employer's Liability; familiarity with other product lines is advantageous.
- Understanding of Code Rule 59 and Code Rule 60 is preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Advanced understanding of insurance principles and regulatory requirements.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Capability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in evaluating risk factors.
- Proficiency in risk management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Aptitude for interpreting financial data and market trends.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in risk management, insurance, business administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of five to ten years of experience in workers' compensation risk management is required.
- Certification as a Risk Manager (CRM) is preferred.
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
- Capability to stand, walk, reach, and bend for prolonged durations.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as necessary.
