Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts radiologic examinations as prescribed by physicians.
  • Follows standard operating procedures for routine examinations.
  • Reviews requisitions for physician notes and specific instructions.
  • Consults with radiologists or physicians as required.
  • Selects appropriate technical factors tailored to individual patients.
  • Operates radiology equipment as per the demands of specific examinations.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Collects specimens and performs diagnostic laboratory tests as ordered.
  • Prepares specimens for transportation to appropriate facilities for procedures not conducted on-site.

Physical Demands

This position requires significant physical activity, including walking, standing, lifting, and bending. The candidate must be capable of lifting and supporting up to 50 pounds, ensuring the safe handling of patients and medical equipment. An intact sense of sight, hearing, touch, and finger dexterity is essential, along with the ability to concentrate and respond swiftly to changes in patient conditions.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is required. Successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program is mandatory. Current registration with ARRT or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire is essential. A minimum of one year of experience is preferred. BLS certification is required as per policy guidelines, and maintenance of current certification is necessary.
