Job Title: Radiology Technologist

Atrium Health Charlotte is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join their team in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Job Summary

As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of patient care duties and other professional activities to facilitate patient care and treatment. You will work under the supervision of a radiology technologist and assist in monitoring the flow of patient activities in the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
  • Identify and assist patients with questions about procedures.
  • Prepare patients for exam and ensure patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.
  • Obtain medications, radiopharmaeceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist or registered nurse.
  • Assist physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams based on assigned modality and career pursuits (Rad/Fluro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound) to include procedures requiring the administration of contrast media.
  • Retrieve patient orders and requisitions while supporting administrative or miscellaneous work tasks in the RIS, EMR, or other standard applications required in the workflow for diagnostic exams.
  • Assist patients to restrooms, with bedpans, urinals and other ancillary clinical support needs as required.
  • Assist with administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
  • Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of career in medical imaging.
  • Medical clerical skills preferred.
