POSITION SUMMARY:
The Nutritional Services Specialist is dedicated to delivering the highest quality dining experience for our clients. This role involves crafting appetizing meals and ensuring client satisfaction with their culinary experience.

Under the guidance of the Kitchen Manager, the Specialist is tasked with maintaining exemplary standards in food handling, preparation, and operational efficiency.

Collaboration with the Kitchen Staff is essential to ensure all necessary tasks are executed proficiently.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with fellow Cooks on meal planning, scheduling, grocery procurement, and other kitchen-related activities.

Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals in an appealing and timely manner according to the Culinary Menu.

Ensure a safe, secure, and sanitary kitchen environment for both staff and clients.
Prepare all food supplies, including snacks, to meet the daily requirements of Mountain Springs Recovery.
Provide leadership and direction within the kitchen.
Report any kitchen-related incidents promptly.
Respond to emergencies and take appropriate action as needed.
Discuss significant events, behaviors, or complaints regarding client activities with fellow Cooks.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies.
Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces) - Cook menu items in collaboration with the kitchen team.
Follow and report on instructions from the executive or sous chef.
Maintain cleanliness of the workstation and manage leftover food appropriately.
Ensure proper inventory management.

Be knowledgeable about the fire evacuation and disaster policies of Mountain Springs Recovery and participate in assigned drills.

Perform additional duties as assigned that contribute to the success of Mountain Springs Recovery and the well-being of our clients.

Compliance:
Work in conjunction with the Kitchen team to ensure adherence to regulatory standards set by State, Federal, and Local authorities.
Collaborate with colleagues to uphold safety regulations and maintain Quality, Environmental, and Safety certifications.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge:
The candidate will:
Have a foundational understanding of administrative functions, including interpersonal communication, office etiquette, and basic computer skills.
Exhibit a strong work ethic and high standards of quality.
Possess intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Understand report generation, graphical analysis, and data interpretation.
Demonstrate effectiveness in organizing department training and quality control standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERENCES:
The following requirements and preferences will be assessed to determine employment eligibility:
1-2 years of experience in a culinary environment.
CPR Certification
Valid Food Handlers Certificate
Experience in a residential setting is advantageous
High school diploma preferred
Flexibility and reliability are essential
Consistent attendance for scheduled shifts is crucial
Attention to detail and adherence to instructions are important

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Hourly compensation includes opportunities for additional earnings through a quarterly bonus based on overall performance metrics.
