Position Responsibilities:

The Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for processing and underwriting credit applications for various consumer loans, adhering to bank procedures, guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements. This role involves significant customer service to support the existing loan portfolio and address inquiries from both internal and external clients. Analytical skills are essential for gathering and summarizing data for underwriting and resolving customer issues. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively are crucial for meeting deadlines. This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, and is conducted entirely in-office.

Key Duties Include:

  • Processing and underwriting consumer loan applications in compliance with the bank's procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Completing all necessary due diligence in processing loan applications.
  • Maintaining the Wintrust standard for exceptional internal and external customer service.
  • Coordinating loan closings and funding processes.
  • Addressing customer transaction requests promptly.
  • Following up with internal and external customers regarding missing documentation for loan applications.
  • Preparing loan maturity letters and submitting third-party invoices for payment.
  • Performing various other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in banking and/or consumer loan processing is preferred; experience with HELOC is a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • High level of organization and time management with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of various loan documents, banking processing standards, best practices, and audit control procedures.
  • Familiarity with nCino, Salesforce, and/or FIS is advantageous.
