The role of the Support Operations Specialist is crucial in providing efficient and cost-effective support services to both internal teams and members. This position is part of the Member & Support Services Department, which encompasses various functions including Accounting, Payment Systems (such as Accounts Payable, ACH, Check Clearing, Wire Transfers, and Debit/Credit Cards), Auditing, Collections, IRA management, Reporting, Record Retention, and Compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent will collaborate closely with management and other representatives to ensure that member service expectations are met. The primary responsibilities include:
- Executing routine operational payments and managing accounting and settlement systems with various entities.
- Guaranteeing timely and precise posting of diverse Payment Systems.
- Conducting compliant audit functions.
- Assisting in the efficient processing and filing of member titles for liens or UCC.
- Reviewing delinquent accounts and effectively communicating with management regarding collection efforts.
- Accurately scanning and indexing documents into the internal record-keeping system.
- Researching and responding to inquiries received via workflow, mail, phone, and email.
It is essential to ensure that all documents comply with Federal and State laws, regulations, and internal policies. The role also involves:
- Maintaining effective communication within the department and across the Credit Union.
- Ensuring a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
- Presenting a professional image while delivering high-quality service in a timely and efficient manner.
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following basic requirements:
- Completion of two years of college-level coursework or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience in a banking or credit union environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with collections processes is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
- Proficiency in using personal computers and Microsoft software.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Must be bondable and maintain a professional appearance.
