Position Overview

The University of Mississippi is seeking a dedicated professional to assume the role of Associate Director of Experiential Education. This position is pivotal in providing leadership and strategic direction in the realms of career development and experiential learning.

The incumbent will engage with students to guide them in their career trajectories, while also fostering relationships with internal and external partners to enhance internship and experiential learning opportunities. This role requires a proactive individual who is committed to the academic and professional success of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and manage programmatic initiatives, ensuring timely execution and adherence to budgetary constraints while nurturing partnerships that facilitate experiential learning.
  • Assist students in securing internships for academic credit and other professional experiences.
  • Continuously develop and maintain relationships to broaden experiential opportunities for business students across various disciplines.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including the Career Center and alumni networks, to leverage connections with organizations.
  • Coordinate outreach initiatives within the School of Business Administration and act as a liaison to student organizations.
  • Manage the employer relationship management database effectively.
  • Promote career opportunities and events through diverse communication channels.
  • Organize and execute virtual and in-person events, including workshops and career fairs.
  • Provide comprehensive career education and professional development guidance to students.
  • Evaluate and report on student internship experiences and learning outcomes.
  • Instruct courses related to Business Communication.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Functions

The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

  1. Providing strategic leadership in career planning and experiential education.
  2. Facilitating workshops aimed at career development.
  3. Assessing and reporting on student learning outcomes.
  4. Instructing business courses and developing relevant curriculum.
Qualifications

Education:
A Master's Degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in career development or experiential education.

Preferred Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and familiarity with career databases and social media platforms.

Note:
Related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education, as approved by the Department of Human Resources.
