POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Commercial Lending Associate plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding support and acting as a bridge between our Commercial Lending Team and clients throughout the lending journey. Responsibilities include overseeing loan documentation and processing, managing loan closings and post-closings, disbursing payments, resolving complex issues, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. This position requires confidence and autonomy, contributing significantly to a seamless and customer-focused experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Loan Support (40%)

  • Collaborates directly with borrowers, lenders, and loan processing teams to gather necessary documentation for closing, funding, and servicing loans, including new loans, renewals, and reviews.
  • Handles customer service inquiries related to new and existing loan requests, loan draws, wires, pay downs, and payoffs, as well as conducting related account research.
  • Monitors daily Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) reports, securing necessary approvals and communicating with customers as needed.
  • Assists the Lending team in tracking all Business Unit items, reaching out to customers for required documents as per loan agreements.

Communication and Collaboration (25%)

  • Leads communication with legal representatives in preparing loan documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness throughout the process.
  • Works closely with the Lending Team to collect and review supporting documentation, ensuring loan and deposit files are accurate and complete prior to and post-closing.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between external vendors, such as inspectors and insurance companies, and various support areas within the bank.

Customer Service and Support (25%)

  • Delivers exceptional customer service by maintaining comprehensive knowledge of procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating commitment to ethical standards.
  • Organizes and maintains the business unit's loan files, ensuring timely and accurate filing of documents.
  • Updates and maintains tracking items within lending software.
  • Proactively engages with customers to resolve past due tracking items.
  • Collaborates with the Lending team to address routine tracking items and resolve documentation issues.

Leadership and Development (5%)

  • Exhibits leadership qualities by supporting the team through knowledge sharing, setting high standards, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Facilitates training for new Loan Assistants.
  • Completes special projects as assigned and serves as a backup resource for other Commercial Loan Assistants.

Administrative Duties (5%)

  • Participates in reviewing various loan reports and leads the notarization process of documents as needed.
  • Engages in scheduled meetings with the Lending team to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Generates correspondence and memos as directed, maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establishes and updates internal procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced understanding of lending terminology and compliance regulations, including the Truth in Lending Act, RESPA, and FCRA.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide high-quality customer service.
  • Proficiency in bank client account software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required; a college degree in finance, accounting, or business is preferred.
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in commercial loan documentation or a similar field is required.

This position operates in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment.
