Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Director of Perioperative Services, the Clinical Operations Nurse Leader is accountable for overseeing the daily patient management within the department. This role involves collaborating with the charge nurse to develop work schedules, assigning cases to nursing staff, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies, and, when necessary, taking on clinical responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other departments to enhance patient care.
- Exhibit strong managerial and leadership capabilities.
Essential Qualifications
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- Preferred coursework in business, public health, or health administration.
Experience:
- A minimum of five years of clinical experience in an operating room setting is required.
- Prior supervisory and management experience is essential.
- Demonstrated leadership experience is a must.
Licensure and Certification:
- Current professional nursing license in Massachusetts is required.
- BLS certification for healthcare providers is mandatory.
- CNOR certification is required.
Skills:
- Possess strong clinical competencies.
- Exhibit effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to solve problems and manage budgets efficiently.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Computer literacy is required, including proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
