Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cardiovascular/Stepdown Registered Nurse to join our team at The George Washington University Hospital. As a Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in our unit.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Provide compassionate and evidence-based nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Monitoring: Utilize advanced monitoring technology to assess and interpret vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and other relevant data.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and effective patient care.
  • Critical Thinking: Apply advanced critical thinking skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, providing emotional support and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Education: Provide patient and family education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.

Qualifications
  • BSN: Possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
  • DC RN License: Hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the District of Columbia.
  • Minimum 2 Years of Nursing Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a similar acute care setting.
  • BLS and ACLS Certification: Possess Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
