The Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic plays a vital role in maintaining and repairing diesel-powered equipment, including tractors and trailers, to ensure optimal performance and safety. This position requires hands-on experience and skills in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance, while adhering to strict safety regulations.

  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, rebuilding, replacing, and completing all required repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.).
  • Performing preventative maintenance within company standards.
  • Completing documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability.
  • Handling road service calls and performing road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
  • Keeping track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the Shop Fax system.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • At least 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both; or 2 years of verifiable hands-on experience with either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification or both. Reefer experience is highly preferred.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
  • Succesfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in administering an appropriate PM program.
  • A CDL A and DOT certification, preferred.

This role comes with a competitive salary of $28-33 per hour, depending on experience, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
