Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to engage in significant projects with our Geotechnical and Tunneling Team, contributing to a dynamic organization that addresses client needs and resolves complex challenges.

Your Contributions
  • Lead and coordinate field observations and specialized inspections during subsurface investigations involving soils and rock.
  • Conduct geotechnical engineering design and analysis for various structures including bridges, buildings, tunnels, and retaining walls, with minimal oversight from senior engineers.
  • Draft and prepare geotechnical memoranda, data reports, and design documentation.
  • Oversee field observations and special inspections related to geotechnical construction.
  • Act as a task leader in the preparation of reports and contract documents.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, reviewing and checking their work.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and project partners.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of geotechnical projects in the surrounding regions.
Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Tunneling Engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of pertinent experience in the field.
  • In-depth knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and familiarity with related disciplines such as Structures, Civil, Environmental, and Planning.
  • Understanding of applicable codes and standards.
  • Experience in the design and construction of highway, bridge, building, and underground projects.
  • Proficiency in developing contract documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various schedules to meet business requirements and effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Willingness to travel and perform fieldwork as necessary.
  • Successful completion of WSP's Motor Vehicle screening is required.
  • Demonstrated responsible and ethical decision-making in relation to company resources and adherence to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and compliance with WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol policies.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
