The Client Manufacturing and Clinical Supply (MCS) - Facilities & Engineering (F&E) Automation team is seeking Engineers to support Clinical & Commercial Plant Automation initiatives and Capital projects. This includes complex automation challenges requiring a robust understanding of various automation platforms, integration of systems, analytical problem-solving, project management, product lifecycle management, and operational excellence.

Candidates should possess extensive knowledge and experience in capital construction projects, design, programming, implementation, and lifecycle management of manufacturing process controls, automation, and field instrumentation technologies.



Core Responsibilities:

  • Act as a representative for the ATA Plant Automation team during the development of project plans, business cases, and cost estimates in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Operations Information Systems (OIS) to estimate required resources and manhours based on project scope.
  • Participate in the preparation and execution of detailed design, scope, and schedule in partnership with Engineering and Global Construction Project Management (GCPM).
  • Oversee the implementation of new automation solutions, including DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Rockwell Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and SCADA systems.
  • Support post-implementation activities, ensuring operationalization of new assets through training and documentation updates.
  • Ensure adherence to Client Engineering and Operational standards throughout project design and implementation.
  • Support functional area projects aimed at enhancing process equipment and integrating new manufacturing technologies into facilities.
  • Manage day-to-day support of Drug Substance operations.
  • Promote a safe working environment by following all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Availability for occasional domestic/international travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:
1) Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotech Engineering, or a related field.
2) Experience in capital project lifecycle management, including design, resource estimation, and project execution related to Plant Automation and process control systems.
3) Minimum of five years of experience with automation systems, including:

o Emerson Delta-V DCS system.
o Rockwell Automation SCADA and PLC Platform.
o Electronic Batch Reporting Systems Design and implementation experience.

o Process Control Systems:
Design and implementation of Virtual Infrastructure.
o System Integration using various technologies.
o Compliance with regulatory standards such as 21 CFR Part 11.
