Position Overview

The Retail Operations Supervisor is responsible for supporting the overall management of a single Byrne Dairy & Deli location, alongside designated responsibilities and tasks. This role includes assisting in the training and development of staff in both store operations and food service.

Key Responsibilities

The following tasks are typically associated with this position, though not exhaustive:

  • Delivering outstanding customer service to foster customer loyalty, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues promptly and courteously.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company regulations regarding product quality, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
  • Executing opening and closing procedures effectively.
  • Overseeing merchandise deliveries, verifying records against orders, and reporting any discrepancies to manage costs efficiently.
  • Conducting human resource functions, including supervising and training team members.
  • Assigning specific tasks to employees as needed.
  • Maintaining store cleanliness, appearance, and upkeep in accordance with company standards.
  • Managing stock levels, inventory, and ensuring proper stock rotation.
  • Creating a safe and clean environment for both employees and customers.
  • Assisting in food service and ice cream operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a retail environment.
  • Ability to adhere to established guidelines and protocols.
  • Highly motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Capable of ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
  • Experience in supervising others, including conducting evaluations, training, and managing disciplinary actions.
  • Willingness to work approximately 45 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this role, employees are regularly required to stand and walk. Occasionally, climbing or balancing on a ladder and stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be necessary when stocking and cleaning shelves. The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required, as well as working in varying temperatures, including coolers and freezers.
