About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Receivables Manager to oversee the student accounts receivable function, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations. This role will involve managing the day-to-day activities of the student loan management team, implementing efficient processes, and driving process improvements to minimize losses and maintain strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Improvement:
    • Establish and improve policies, objectives, and initiatives to achieve targets and optimize student interactions throughout the student lifecycle.
    • Implement effective processes for student loan underwriting, billing, compliance, and collections.
    • Continuously evaluate and enhance billing processes and systems to streamline, automate, and increase efficiency.
    • Drive process improvements to minimize losses and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Student Receivables Management:
    • Track metrics related to student payment performance.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to prevent and resolve delinquencies.
    • Lead a team to address student questions, set up agreements, and follow up on outstanding matters.
    • Collaborate with the finance and accounting team to reconcile student receivable balances, maintain accurate aging, and provide necessary reports.
    • Coordinate with the financial aid team to ensure timely arrangement and communication of student financing.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Manage and hold accountable third-party vendors, including student loan servicers and collections agencies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive, relevant receivables management experience.
  • 3+ years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisions.
