Job Title: Administrative Law Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paralegal Project Specialist to join our team in the Arizona Board of Nursing. This role will support Board attorneys and staff in handling Nursing Board cases for settlements, investigations, and hearings related to administrative law.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, consent agreements, and correspondence related to employment disputes
• File and submit legal documents to the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) or administrative agencies, ensuring compliance with all filing requirements and deadlines
• Organize and manage case files, including maintaining and updating case documentation, gathering evidence, and preparing correspondence
• Interact with Board staff, including Board counsel, and Assistant Attorneys General, providing updates on communications with defense counsel and nurses pending hearing or investigation, obtaining evidence and information for new investigations, updating Board staff and attorneys on case progress, and assisting with any inquiries or communication needs
• Assist in obtaining information and evidence, including through the use of subpoenas; track and follow up on responses to subpoenas
• Help attorneys prepare for administrative hearings by organizing exhibits, creating trial binders, and coordinating witness arrangements
• Ensure that the Board of Nursing practices adhere to state and federal laws
• Perform other duties as assigned related to the position

Requirements:
• Associate degree in paralegal studies or a bachelor's degree with a paralegal certificate is required
• Certification from a recognized paralegal association is preferred
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal, particularly in administrative law or litigation
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong research and writing skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in legal software, case management systems, Google Docs, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of Administrative Law: In-depth understanding of federal and Arizona state administrative laws
• Ethical Standards: Understanding and adherence to legal ethics and confidentiality requirements in the legal profession

Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
