We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant to join our team as a Lead Medical Assistant at our Millburn office. Key Responsibilities- Supervise and evaluate the day-to-day duties of medical assistants/LPNs to ensure compliance with company policies and protocols.
- Work closely with management to execute new protocols and assist with training needs.
- Provide onboarding planning, training, and continued education to new and current assigned medical support staff.
- Ensure that all assigned medical assistants/LPNs follow company policies and protocols, including adhering to opening and closing checklists.
- Exude a strong understanding of and enforce CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
- Assist office management in supervising/finding coverage for necessary shifts, including emergency or PTO taken.
- Scan consumables and retail products to maintain an adequate number and place orders as needed.
- Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care offered to patients and providers.
- Have a thorough working knowledge of all standard operating protocols and policies that pertain to the clinical department.
- Assist the physician in medical, cosmetic, allergy, and/or laser procedures, including prepping exam rooms and properly cleaning them after each visit.
- Properly assist the provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization, obtaining consents, and/or procedures within established guidelines.
- Maintain an adequate amount of medical supplies by executing weekly inventory counts and placing bi-weekly medical supply orders.
- Work with office management to audit consumable trackers and laser logs on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for auditing all specimen logbooks and lab trackers for respective location providers.
- Work with MAs, LPNs, and MA Floater to ensure all refill and prior authorization requests are handled in a timely fashion.
- Cross-train to assist in covering the front desk during emergencies, as needed.
- Oversee and ensure all required medical forms are organized and submitted with accurate data and in a timely manner.
- Maintain effective and constructive communication with office management to instill company values, vision, and protocols in all associated colleagues and providers.
- Healthcare experience required.
- Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems preferred.
- Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Excellent patient relation and customer services skills.
- Must be professional, reliable, and dedicated employee.
- Strong critical thinking, problem resolution skills, and multitasking abilities.
- Prefer prior experience working in a dermatology/medical/cosmetic environment.
- Medical Assistant Certified strongly encouraged.
