Laundry Worker Job Description

At Healthcare Services Group, we are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Laundry Worker to join our team. As a Laundry Worker, you will be responsible for collecting, sorting, and loading soiled linen into the washer(s) and loading clean linens into the dryer(s), folding clean linens, counting and recording the linen processed each day, making proper deliveries to units, and cleaning and sanitizing the work area, including machines, work tables, and sorting areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fold clean linens and count and record the linen processed each day
  • Make proper deliveries to units and clean and sanitize the work area, including machines, work tables, and sorting areas
  • Utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions and follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to ensure a sanitary environment
  • Respond to the paging system in a timely and appropriate manner and maintain punctuality and consistent attendance
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform routine, repetitive tasks daily
  • After completing all appropriate training, utilize leadership skills to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision and do so without injury to oneself or other individuals
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred and must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously and work around food and cleaning products
