Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for providing expert phlebotomy services and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections in accordance with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Receives and reviews physician orders, ensuring all necessary information is included for appropriate lab services.
  • Enter accurate orders for lab tests in accordance with department policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Process specimens in a timely manner to ensure stability and integrity of samples.
  • Review and record refrigerator temperature(s) and QC/QA records, reporting any areas of concern to maintenance for repair.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to biohazard waste procedures and ensuring proper storage and timely pickup of biohazardous waste.
  • Perform lab-related clerical duties, including order entry, verification of test result receipt, and patient information retrieval.
Requirements
  • Pediatric experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm.
  • Ability to function as part of a highly effective team that consistently puts patients first.
