Job Summary
Earn an estimated $64,500 - $91,400 per year as an Electroencephalogram Technician at Christus Health. In this role, you will operate advanced diagnostic equipment to measure brain activity and interpret data for medical professionals.

About the Job
As an Electroencephalogram Technician, you will be responsible for performing electroencephalograms (EEGs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), and other tests to diagnose and monitor brain disorders. You will work with patients of all ages, from in-patients to outpatients, and may be required to perform long-term video EEG monitoring and transcranial Doppler studies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate electroencephalographs to measure impulse frequencies and electrical potential between brain areas.
  • Study wave characteristics during tests to detect evidence of brain disorders.
  • Perform EKGs using Marquette MAC VU, 12, 8, and PC machines.
  • Conduct routine EEGs, long-term video EEG monitoring, and transcranial Doppler studies.
  • Schedule patients for procedures requiring appointments.
  • Maintain diagnostic equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness after each patient.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of career-oriented college credits (24 credit hours).
  • One year of experience performing EEG in a clinical setting.
  • Six months of experience with EKG/stress testing.
  • BLS certification.
