About the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech is a dynamic institution that integrates new technologies into the engineering curriculum. Position Summary

The School of Civil & Environmental Engineering invites applications for a Research Engineer I position to contribute to research in blast engineering, mechanical shock, and computational mechanics.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engage in research projects focused on energy dissipation and structural responses to blast and impact loads.
  2. Assist graduate students in their research endeavors and coordinate undergraduate student involvement.
  3. Prepare research reports and publications.
  4. Contribute to grant and contract proposal writing.
  5. Support laboratory organization and scheduling.
  6. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree.
  • Experience in designing and executing large-scale structural experiments.
