Job Title: Laboratory Associate II

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a skilled Laboratory Associate II to join our team. As a Laboratory Associate II, you will play a vital role in supporting the laboratory's operations, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our testing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and organize samples for testing, including sample racking, aliquoting, and tube preparation.
  • Label, handle, process, transport, and store specimens, ensuring compliance with laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Identify sample problems and assist in resolving them, demonstrating problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Prepare testing equipment and assist with preventive maintenance, notifying technical staff of equipment issues.
  • Assist licensed personnel in pre-analytic and post-analytic testing activities, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Prepare pre-analytical reagents and controls, submitting documentation for approval.
  • Maintain accurate records of reagents and media, using established procedures and formulas.
  • Manage inventory of consumable items, including reagents and supplies, and perform regular inventory checks.
  • Sort and accession incoming specimens, delivering them to designated testing platforms.
  • Perform data entry and transcription of results, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist in quality control procedures, identifying and resolving issues.
  • Prepare protocols, logs, and other documents as required.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of laboratory experience, with a focus on histopathology, cytology, or other laboratory settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with management, coworkers, and clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with strong typing skills and attention to detail.
