Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team at Johns Hopkins Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients in our intensive care units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients in the PICU, NICU, and pediatric general care units.
  • Set up, operate, deliver, and discontinue medical gas therapy, humidity therapy, aerosol therapy, hyperinflation therapy, bronchial hygiene therapy, invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, emergency care/resuscitation, and airway management.
  • Build relationships with other members of the healthcare team and participate in the realization of each patient's multidisciplinary plan of care.
  • Analyze and interpret physician orders, perform therapy, and communicate outcomes of treatment to the healthcare team.
  • Apply principles of evidence-based practice and service excellence in practice.
Requirements
  • Minimum Associates Degree in Respiratory Care (or equivalent) required.
  • Graduation from a Registered Respiratory Therapy Program approved by the Commission For The Accreditation Of Respiratory Care Education (CoARC).
  • Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience in pediatrics or neonatal respiratory care, and/or ECMO.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) Required.
  • Maryland State License Required.
  • PALS and B.L.S.Required.
  • NRP is required for the NICU.
  • STABLE Is preferred or obtained within 1 year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or other associated bachelor's degree.
  • ECMO Specialist training.
