Patient Care Assistant

Overview
The Safety Attendant provides one-on-one observation of selected patients to identify behaviors that may be hazardous to themselves or others, in accordance with facility policies and procedures. They report needs and concerns to licensed nurses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide observation and support to patients with behavioral needs
- Report concerns and needs to licensed nurses
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure patient safety
- Participate in training and education to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous hospital experience preferred
- De-Escalation Techniques, Life Support Responder, and Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training within 90 days of employment
Additional Skills:
- Ability to work with all age groups
- Basic computer skills for documentation
- Knowledge of infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics
