Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Field Service Technician to facilitate the effective installation of our technology at various wellsites. The ideal candidate will possess a robust electrical and mechanical skill set, with extensive experience in commissioning and operating oilfield rod pump controllers. Familiarity with beam pumping units and optimization techniques for rod pumps is essential. Knowledge of telemetry hardware and setups is also beneficial, along with experience in water disposal facilities and horizontal pumping systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute startup, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairs of Orbital's ASD technology at wellsites.
- Provide on-site technical assistance to clients.
- Collaborate with customers to enhance rod pump efficiency utilizing Orbital's technology.
- Work alongside the engineering team to assemble and evaluate both current and next-generation equipment.
- Conduct site surveys to determine the scope of work and devise effective action plans.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including service reports and data analyses.
- Maintain thorough records of repair, testing, and assembly activities, including causes of failure and actions taken.
- Accurately complete timesheets and site visit reports in accordance with internal procedures.
- Communicate any customer satisfaction issues or requests for support to the appropriate service or sales management personnel.
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly tasks when not on-site.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Located in Houston, TX, with the ability to report to the office when not in the field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in the oil and gas sector, focusing on upstream production or midstream operations.
- Proficient in industrial control systems and pumping systems.
- Strong mechanical skills are essential.
- PEC Safeland Certification is required.
- Ability to work outdoors at remote wellsites under various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and the capacity to build strong customer relationships are crucial.
- Willingness to travel with overnight stays as necessary.
- Physical Requirements:
- Capability to lift 50 lbs with assistance occasionally.
- Ability to lift and carry 25-30 lbs consistently throughout the day.
- Physical agility to bend, squat, stretch, and reach regularly.
- Must possess a valid CDL driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
