Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to support our drilling operations. As an Electro-Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on mechanical equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in down-hole drilling tools, and in particular, power generation, electro/mechanical hydraulic assemblies, and measurements while drilling tools (MWD).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform cleaning, inspection, repair, and testing of the HALO RSS as listed in the RSS Competency Standard, and in accordance with the appropriate Maintenance & Service Instructions. Complete all associated maintenance documentation and QC checks including status tagging.
  • Perform diagnostic tests on both full tool assemblies and of subassemblies that comprise the HALO RSS system.
  • Perform Calibration & Verification testing as required including Hydraulic Force test, QC roll test of sensors and associated documentation.
  • Complete all R&M Documentation, such as checklists, maintenance records, inventory sheets, as required Pre- and Post - Job reports to ensure both electronic and hard copy systems are maintained. This work may be performed within the SAP MRP/ERP or other systems.
  • Proactively provide input and discussion pertaining to safety, processes, workflows, or reliability as appropriate for continual improvement of tools, work areas, or procedures.
  • Assists and understudy through the Shop Supervisor, Lead Technicians and via our Sustaining/Reliability Engineering effort.
  • Assists in and develop necessary skills in testing, troubleshooting and failure analysis to update appropriate documentation correctly and consistently.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety in the workplace.
  • Complete and maintain required SDI online HSE training, including, but not limited to, Safety Training, ESD Awareness, Lithium Battery Safety, forklift, overhead crane, and any other assigned ELM Training that is necessary to a particular assignment.
  • Ensure that hand tooling and equipment is correctly maintained and report deficiencies.
  • Ensure a clean workplace through exceptional housekeeping practices.
  • Work overtime as required to deliver to department commitments.

Requirements:
  • Technical Knowledge of Drilling Systems Products & Service.
  • Exposure to oil field services.
  • Exposure to a technical vocation.
  • Exposure to torque master, overhead cranes & forklift operations.
  • Knowledge of utilization of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, and go/nogo ring and plug gauges.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and schematics, manuals and other materials to determine specifications.
  • Ability to review and rapidly understand complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to understand and work with hydraulic/electronic/ electromechanical systems.
  • Able to understand and follow mechanical and electronics assembly procedures.
  • Ability to identify and communicate technical problems by using logical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Electrical Skills including metering (use of multi and megohm meters).
  • Basic Computing skills with exposure to data entry & office platforms.
  • Ability to work in team environment.
  • Excellent communication Skills, both written and verbally, Organization & Self-Motivation.
Education, Experience, Certification and Training:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in oil field or military equipment maintenance.
  • Hands on training with mechanical, hydraulic, or electronic tools and equipment.
  • Proven capability to identify and solve problems.
  • Working knowledge of basic software including MS Office Software (Excel, Word, MS Outlook, MA Outlook Calendar, MS Power Point, MS Teams, Zoom, Internet Explorer).
  • SAP experience will be a plus.
Work Environment, Physical Job Requirements and PPE:
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry under 45 lbs., perceive depth and operate a motor vehicle.
  • Conditions may include working inside and/or outside. May work around machines with moving parts and moving objects. Working near radiant and electrical energy. Working closely with others or working alone. Working extended or irregular hours and travelling by all possible modes of transportation.
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computers and related equipment, calculators, copiers, fax machines, telephone and vehicles. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed shoes, coveralls, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
  • Must be reliable, responsible, and able to show up to work on time, and when needed on "on call" weekend callouts. This is team effort, and all members of the team are required to be present during normal operations, and when the weekend team is needed to support operations.
