National Sales Director

TechOnPurpose is seeking an experienced National Sales Director to lead our nationwide sales team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales leadership, with a strong ability to motivate and manage a team to meet and exceed sales targets.
The National Sales Director will be responsible for assessing and advancing our sales strategies, including sales plans, forecasts, and compensation plans. They will also be responsible for building and maintaining a world-class direct and channel sales organization, capable of consistently reaching and exceeding sales targets.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sales leadership principles, with a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. They will also have excellent communication and customer service skills, with a passion for helping people solve problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a world-class direct and channel sales organization
- Assess and advance sales strategies, including sales plans, forecasts, and compensation plans
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
- Work with Product Development and Marketing Communication teams to identify critical success factors and strategies for high margin, high growth products
- Work with Sales Engineering teams to recruit and retain industry leading engineers
- Develop and maintain a Sales Operations team to support high-volume/quality technical design and estimating processes
- Develop and maintain a best-of-breed client success team capable of establishing and maintaining high customer retention with consistent upsell success
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in business, marketing, or related field
- 8+ years of strong experience in dynamic sales & sales leadership roles
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to sustainably meet quota, and drive sales team success with 80% of sales reps at or above quota
- High effectiveness in collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Experience in delivering finely tuned, customer facing project plans and oversight
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills
- A passion for helping people solve problems and a proven ability to understand technology concepts
- Highly organized self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to solve multiple, complex issues and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions
- Experience in managing budgets, expenses, and forecasts
