About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Services Field Technician to join our team at Republic Services. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous spill clean-up, and Hazmat Decon work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform confined space entry, including manhole and tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping, and shoveling.
  • Operate light and heavy equipment, including rolloff trucks, vacuum trucks, box trucks, skid steers, forklifts, pumps, and pallet-jacks.
  • Respond to customer spills and emergencies during normal business hours and after hours.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip Department of Transportation inspections.
  • Maintain vehicle logs and perform general housekeeping, including maintenance of equipment and site.
Requirements
  • Ability to use heavy and light equipment, such as forklifts and pallet-jacks.
  • Skilled in using hand and shop tools, and instruments.
  • Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, stay focused, and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.
  • A valid driver's license may be required for some positions.
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
