Job Overview

Position Title: Accessories Technician (Harness Technician)

Department: Support Shop

Supervisor: Director of Support Shop and Facilities

Position Summary:

As an Accessories Technician, your primary responsibility will be the upkeep and repair of accessory components. This includes diagnosing issues, performing repairs, modifications, testing, and inspecting aviation accessory equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs, modifications, and testing in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and established protocols.
  • Identify product failures and execute necessary maintenance to restore functionality.
  • Utilize electronic testing equipment as needed for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Effectively use hand tools to carry out maintenance tasks on various articles.
  • Perform soldering tasks adhering to industry standards.
  • Document all work and inspections accurately as required.
  • Maintain clear communication with management and colleagues.
  • Execute routine assembly operations on CFM56 engine mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and related aircraft systems and accessories using OEM manuals.

Qualifications:

Essential knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies include, but are not limited to:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in engine harness wire routing, dressing, repairs, and cannon plug repairs.
  • Proficient in wire hook-ups, resistance, and continuity testing.
  • Experience in functional testing of fuel nozzles.
  • Knowledge of testing and repairing ball screw actuators and VSV actuators.
  • Familiarity with testing equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted for approximately 25% of the workday.
  • Regularly required to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
Skills and Certifications:
CFM56Ideal Candidate:
Experience with Borescope Lens and borescope blend is preferred. CFM56 engine experience is essential.
