We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Sunny Vista. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, environmental services, security, and grounds functions within our community.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision: Oversees and assists direct reports in managing work assignments, hiring, orienting, training, supervising, scheduling, mentoring, and evaluating employees.
- Departmental Management: Develops, implements, and regularly evaluates departmental policies and procedures, coordinates and oversees projects, reviews and selects bid proposals and contract services, and ensures quality of work performed and adherence to established project specifications.
- Waste Management: Directs waste management procedures, including recycling and hazardous materials and infectious waste.
- Emergency Preparedness: Serves as the community emergency preparedness controller, assists in maintaining and practicing the Emergency Preparedness plan, and modifies and maintains the community's Emergency Operations Protocols.
- Compliance and Safety: Responsible for compliance with OSHA requirements as they relate to Building Operations and ensures a sanitary and safe environment.
- Training and Development: Plans and schedules staff training programs for maintenance and environmental services staff.
- Communication and Customer Service: Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; some vocational course work in business or trades desirable; Relevant professional certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in the environmental services department of a healthcare, skilled nursing, or independent housing community preferred.
- Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of and demonstrable expertise in the practices, procedures, material, and equipment relevant to the department, including laundry and floor care, plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning, painting, and landscaping.
- Math and Software Skills: Must possess basic math skills and demonstrate proficiency with applicable software applications.
- Communication and Customer Service: Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Language: Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Transportation: Must possess a Colorado Motor Vehicle Record and Driver License in good standing, with reliable transportation.
