Accounting Instructor Position

Fox Valley Technical College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach accounting classes. The successful candidate will be a dynamic partner for both students and the College, working to ensure student success and modeling FVTC core values.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, develop, and implement instructional strategies, including alternative delivery methods when appropriate.
- Assist and advise students with academic matters, including assignments, tests, grades, and career concerns.
- Research, develop, and administer skills assessments to evaluate student performance.
- Promote student success through timely communication, growth-based feedback, and implementation of strategies to meet diverse learners' needs.
- Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, and providing grades on a timely basis.
- Meet professional expectations by maintaining currency and contributing to a collaborative culture across the College.
- Attend division, department, and advisory committee meetings as requested.
- Participate in staff development activities, such as diversity awareness and technology training.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the college's mission, vision, and values.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, with an Associate Degree or equivalent considered based on experience and expertise.
- Minimum of two years of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught, with at least one year within five years prior to date of hire.
- Post-secondary teaching experience preferred.
- Meet and maintain FVTC requirements, Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS), and/or other job-specific licensing standards.
Adjunct instructors are hired on a per-course basis, with total hours ranging from approximately 3 hours per week to no more than 8 hours per week. Hours vary and can include day, evening, and weekend classes. Courses are taught in traditional classrooms and alternative delivery formats.
New adjunct faculty are required to complete the mandatory, non-compensated Blackboard Basics & Orientation for Adjunct Instructors course within 30 days. Additional training is also required to qualify to teach in the Wisconsin Technical College System within the first three years of hire.
