Job Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, temporary adjunct faculty position in Physics/Astronomy. This is an ongoing recruitment, and applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean.
  • Help students master course content and assess their learning outcomes.
  • Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in the regular teaching field.
  • Continuously develop professional skills and utilize current technology in job duties.
  • Adhere to professional conduct and ethics standards.
  • Participate in faculty governance, including accreditation and student co-curricular activities.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean.
Requirements
  1. A master's degree in Physics, Astronomy, or Astrophysics, or a bachelor's degree in Physics or Astronomy and a master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Meteorology, or Geophysics.
  2. An equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
