Job SummaryThe Wound Care Technician will work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to participate in the delivery of patient care. This includes performing job duties appropriately for the age population served, demonstrating courtesy and caring to patients and their families, and taking initiative in living our Everyday Excellence values and vital signs.
Responsibilities- Provides direct patient care, incorporating the patient's plan of care and following approved policies and procedures.
- Performs specialized patient care techniques in the Wound & Hyperbaric Care Unit, including preparing and assisting in patient preparation for treatment, reinforcing education as it relates to hyperbaric therapy, and performing duties and procedures as directed by the Medical Director and Registered Nurse.
- Maintains patient records and charts to ensure an accurate record of the patient's medical condition.
- Practices appropriate safety, environmental, and infection control procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Previous job experience preferred.
- Previous wound experience preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certification or Basic EMT Certification or Military Medic experience or Nursing Student with completion of fundamental nursing clinical in RN program preferred.
