Job Summary

Abilities First, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team in our UPK preschool program located in Hyde Park, NY. As a Speech Therapist, you will be responsible for providing speech therapy services to children of all ages, following a school calendar and a six-week summer program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial evaluations and periodic re-evaluations to assess the speech and language skills of children in our preschool program.
  • Develop and implement individualized speech therapy programs for assigned caseload, in conjunction with classroom staff and other related services.
  • Coordinate with teachers, counselors, and case managers to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of therapy sessions, progress, and outcomes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and parent-teacher conferences as assigned.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Perform related work as assigned by program directors, including supervising staff speech pathologists and participating in departmental meetings.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensure as a Speech Pathologist by the New York State Department of Education.
  • NYS teacher certification required.
  • Experience with oral motor, dysphagia, and augmentative communications is highly desirable.
