Position Overview:
As Bergen Logistics continues to expand, we are in search of a dedicated Accounting Manager who will take an active role in establishing the financial framework and procedures necessary to facilitate our growth in the US market efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the month-end financial closing process, ensuring all revenues and expenses are accurately recorded and that balance sheet reconciliations are completed across various entities.
- Conduct monthly general ledger reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial statements.
- Manage daily cash and banking operations, including collaboration on the reconfiguration and implementation of financial systems, as well as overseeing order-to-cash accounts receivable reconciliations.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly bank reconciliations within the financial system.
- Maintain thorough records for accruals and prepaids, validated through supervisory reviews of expense schedules.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports detailing revenue and operating expenditures, providing insights and analyses of key business drivers to enhance cost control and identify improvement opportunities.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement enhancements to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes.
- Support the preparation of year-end and statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and IFRS standards, and facilitate effective audit processes for US entities.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of assigned staff in alignment with agency policies and procedures.
- Provide strategic support to the management team, including the development of budgets, forecasts, and key metrics reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to adapt in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, particularly US GAAP, and experience with internal controls.
- Familiarity with comprehensive month-end close processes, functional reporting, and cash flow forecasting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Core Competencies:
- A proactive, 'can-do' attitude with a willingness to tackle tasks ranging from manual processing to larger projects.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to external stakeholders.
- Experience with large ERP accounting software, such as Netsuite, is advantageous.
