Position Overview:

The Clinical Nurse III - Pediatrics plays a pivotal role in a collaborative healthcare team dedicated to delivering comprehensive care to patients and their families facing complex health challenges. This position is essential in ensuring that care is not only safe and effective but also patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality patient care while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Comply with the Nurse Practice Act and maintain adherence to quality standards.
  • Support clinical and administrative teams in achieving set goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of nursing policies and procedures, including training materials and staff development resources.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on operational activities, staying updated on best practices through continuous education.
  • Optimize clinic operations through effective scheduling and resource management.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to provide tailored nursing care.
  • Document and prioritize care plans using critical thinking skills.
  • Oversee the implementation of care plans and supervise nursing staff.
  • Initiate orders for necessary prescriptions and lab tests.
  • Develop educational plans for patients regarding health maintenance and restoration.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, addressing critical issues promptly.
  • Coordinate patient care and facilitate referrals to appropriate services.
  • Perform triage to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate care.
  • Advocate for patients' rights and promote a safe healthcare environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Serve as a resource for team members in clinical and leadership capacities.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current nursing license in Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution with a minimum of two years of nursing experience, or an Associate's degree with four years of experience, or a nursing diploma with three years of experience.
  • Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
