Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team at North Kansas City Schools. As a key member of our Special Education Department, you will play a vital role in supporting students with identified disabilities to improve their speech and/or language skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our Special Education team to accept assignments and conduct screenings using approved protocols.
  • Work closely with our Supervising Speech-Language Pathologists to develop and implement treatment plans, documenting student progress and reporting to the team.
  • Perform a range of administrative tasks, including maintaining equipment, preparing materials, and scheduling items, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, adhering to regulations and demonstrating a commitment to our inclusive learning environment.
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and training sessions as required to stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field, with necessary coursework.
  • Valid Missouri Board of Healing Arts registration.
  • Knowledge of Ethical Rules of Conduct and ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Class E Driver's License and Board of Healing Arts Registration.
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
