Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Coordinator for our Stem Cell Transplant program. In this role, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of new treatments and protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless treatment planning and coordination.
  • Evaluate patients for entry into treatment plans and clinical trials, and develop individualized care plans to improve patient outcomes.
  • Monitor patient responses to treatments and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
  • Facilitate the scheduling of tests and procedures for patients participating in treatment plans and clinical trials.
  • Monitor treatments and document adverse events.
  • Participate in analyzing, summarizing, and presenting treatment results, and integrate findings into improved patient care and clinical knowledge.
  • Serve as a liaison to community-based physicians and staff regarding patient referrals for treatments.
  • Provide education to healthcare professionals and patients regarding treatment plans and clinical trials.
  • Collect, complete, and submit data using appropriate documents and forms according to hospital and regulatory policies.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in oncology clinical nursing.
  • Clinical competence in patient care, teaching, and management of patients and families in related fields.
  • Proficient with advanced word processing and other software applications unique to the department.
  • Ability to interact on a scientific level with medical staff, community physicians, and representatives of national pharmaceutical groups.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and good communication skills.
Working Conditions

This position is exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, and blood and body fluids on a continuous basis. Therefore, the team member is required to wear protective gear as needed. The team member must be able to function in a latex environment and have functional sight and hearing.
