Job Summary

ALTA IT Services, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our data center operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data center facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain data center systems, including power, cooling, and security systems
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on data center equipment
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical problems and develop procedural and technical recommendations for improvement
  • Plan and coordinate the implementation of new products into the production environment
  • Monitor system limitations to maximize capacity and efficiency
  • Perform equipment-level capacity planning and network performance activities
  • Maintain equipment inventory and configuration management records
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Data Center Standards, Service Management Quality Program, and ITIL standards
  • Assume responsibility for escalation and emergency response requests in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a technician with LAN/WAN industry standards
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet configuration, and functionality
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux systems
  • Ability to work and manage in a 24x7x365 work environment
  • Flexible to work varying shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or a mixed)
  • Basic electronics troubleshooting skills and ability to use spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, protocol analyzer, power meter, Fiber test sets
  • Experience with Cisco, HNS, CATV/IPTV, and other Telco and IP protocol core network and equipment
  • Ability to terminate various types of cabling (i.e. CAT6/6A, coaxial cable, fiber cable) with precision
