FUNCTIONS:

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  • Ensure accuracy in parts inventory.
  • Strive for maximum availability while minimizing financial investment.
  • Record all receipts and sales on a daily basis.
  • Update all secondary information daily (e.g., part number modifications, price adjustments, lost sales, shortages, bin and location changes, etc.).
  • Create management reports upon request, including back-orders, emergency and special order statuses, parts aging, obsolescence, etc.
  • Notify management of current or potential inventory issues such as stock shortages, excessive or insufficient guide figures, obsolescence, non-production numbers, backorders, and other delays.
  • Manage the warranty parts return program, ensuring all parts are received by the designated date.
  • Update back-order parts on a daily basis.
  • Monitor and manage all shipping and receiving activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines and policies for parts returns, ensuring they are received by the specified return date.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the parts department by assisting with housekeeping tasks.
  • Prepare for inventory assessments using perpetual inventories.
  • Supervise all operations related to damaged, mispacked, or 30-day returns, charging to the appropriate accounts.
ACCOUNTABILITY

Performance standards for this role are achieved when:
  • The dollar value of the inventory management system and physical inventory remains within a 1.5-month supply at all times, by managing obsolescence return policies.
  • True turnover reaches six or more times annually.
  • Shortages and incorrect bin locations do not exceed 20 occurrences each month.
  • Management reports are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Inventory levels are maintained below 11 months of no sales.
  • Conduct perpetual inventories daily.
  • Address all inventory adjustments by the end of the day.
  • Complete all returns within the allotted timeframe.
  • Facilitate a seamless inventory process as outlined in the duties above.
