Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee permitting processes in alignment with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Perform delineations of inland and coastal resource areas, special habitat assessments, and surveys for the Northern Long-Eared Bat (NLEB).
  • Ensure projects adhere to environmental compliance standards through ongoing monitoring.
  • Conduct both field and desktop evaluations, producing comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Facilitate peer reviews to support Conservation Commissions, Planning Boards, and Zoning Boards.
  • Evaluate potential environmental impacts of projects, identifying mitigation strategies and compliance measures.
  • Engage in business development initiatives to expand service offerings.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior team members.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, policy, biology, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Possession of Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification, or the ability to obtain it.
  • In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal wetland regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience with public speaking and presentations.
  • Familiarity with GPS technology and data collection methodologies.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ArcMap, and other relevant software applications.
  • Physical ability to collect field data and conduct inspections, including lifting objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Willingness to perform fieldwork in varying weather conditions.
  • Capacity to remain stationary or mobile for extended periods.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
