The CT IMAGING SPECIALIST, operating under the direct guidance of a radiologist, conducts specialized computerized tomographic examinations utilizing ionizing radiation scanning apparatus.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Completion of an AMA accredited CT program at either the associate's or bachelor's degree level.

LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a current and unrestricted license or registration to practice as a CT technologist in the relevant state, along with ARRT registration.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A minimum of one year of recent experience as a CT technologist in a clinical environment.

CREDENTIALS
Current CPR certification and other health screenings as mandated by specific facilities or regulatory bodies.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Various healthcare facility environments with potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adheres to ATC policies and procedures.
  • Follows client facility protocols.
  • Accurately documents all services rendered.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provides patient care with respect to cultural diversity and age appropriateness, ensuring autonomy and dignity are upheld.
  • Effectively communicates relevant information to appropriate personnel.
  • Enhances professional skills through ongoing education and meets state-specific requirements.
  • Prepares and explains procedures to patients.
  • Operates intravenous contrast injectors and performs injections.
  • Assesses CT scans to determine the necessity for additional imaging.
  • Conducts three-dimensional reformations of CT scans using computer technology.
  • Monitors patient safety and comfort while reviewing images for quality assurance.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.
